Dental aesthetics is playing an increasingly important role today. Adult patients often come to us because they are unhappy with the way their teeth look. Your image is very important nowadays and your teeth are one of the most important aspects in this context. A smile with beautiful, straight teeth is desired by many people as it represents self-confidence, success, beauty and youth. From a professional point of view, orthodontic treatment is carried out on adults for the same reasons as on children. The aim is to achieve and maintain a healthy chewing apparatus that allows chewing, swallowing and speaking while promoting good hygiene. Another important aspect of orthodontic treatment in adults is the treatment of temporomandibular disorders. These range from tight chewing muscles to extreme pain when chewing or opening the mouth. Pain in the head and face, pain throughout the spine, ringing in the ears and dizziness are often caused by malocclusion. Misaligned teeth can therefore be easily corrected even in adulthood, but now in a more gentle way, without extraction or invasive surgery! The question is no longer: "Why correct my teeth? Rather it is: "Why not straighten my teeth?"

  • Treatment requirements

    While age plays a secondary role in orthodontic treatment, a healthy gum tissue is an important prerequisite. The teeth must be free of decay, and the roots and gums must be free of inflammation.

  • Course of treatment

    At your first appointment, we will take your medical history and make an initial orthodontic assessment. We will ask you about your wishes and ideas and then examine the position of your teeth and jaw.

  • Fixed appliance

    The so-called DAMON technique - developed by Dr Dwight Damon in the USA - is an advanced concept of biodynamic orthodontic treatment: the Damon system works with significantly less force than all other conventional braces. The almost complete absence of friction due to the design, combined with highly developed thermoelastic arches, allows biologically optimal movement of the teeth with significantly increased patient comfort and less pressure sensation. The huge advantage of this system is that treatment time is extremely short and tooth extraction or orthodontic surgery is largely unnecessary.

  • Lingual braces (applied on the inside)

    With invisible braces, known as lingual braces, the brackets are bonded to the inside of the teeth, making them invisible from the outside. After creating a digital model, the brackets are designed on the computer and then manufactured.

  • Prophylaxis for adults

    Patients with fixed braces require special attention in the prevention of caries and gingivitis because some surfaces are more difficult to reach when brushing. The fact that the appliances are bonded to the teeth increases plaque build-up. We will provide you with detailed instructions on effective brushing techniques and how to choose the right toothbrush (interdental brush, orthodontic toothbrush, fluoride gel, etc.) to ensure optimal dental care.
